This is the first major exhibition of works by the German artist Kurt Schwitters (1887-1948) that has ever been shown in Norway. And it is also the first time that SchwitterÕs visits to Norway are the theme of an exhibition.

Exhibition and readings about Kurt Schwitters in the Shippon Gallery, cordinated by Robin Martakies at the Shipppon Gallery; open from 12 noon until 4.30pm each day. Robin will also be signing copies of his book of poem about Schwitters between the hours stated. Heritage Open Days are promoted by the Civic Trust, English Heritage and the Open University.

Damien Hirst one of Britain's most famous artists has very generously donated one of his best known 'Spin paintings' in aid of the Kurt Schwitters Merz Barn restoration fundraising campaign. The Spin painting will go for auction along with other donated arts works at the RCA with Sotheby's London in May, in aid of the Merz Barn restoration fund art auction.
