The Elterwater Merz Barn, Great Langdale, Cumbria
How to find it*
The Merz Barn is located in the woods at Cylinder Estate, just outside the village of Elterwater. The entrance to Cylinders is by the blue painted wooden gates, which are located directly opposite the main entrance to the Langdale Hotel, on the road to Chapel Stile.

At present the site is undergoing restoration and upgrading and so is not open to the public on a permanent basis. However, the Merz Barn will be open to the public at specified times of the year. These are; Easter week-end; August Bank holiday, and for the annual Kurt Schwitters Autumn Schools (held during the first week-end in October). Other opening times wil be announced on the website, and in the local newspapers and UK art journals. Check out the event listing for more information.
